Sapporo Black Label Draft: Izu Limited Bottle

Japanese Name: サッポロ生ビール黒ラベル<伊豆限定>
Brewer: Sapporo
Type: Japanese Beer (ビール)
Alcohol: 5%

Tasting Notes:
Tonight, I have opened a gift from Izu City in Shizuoka Prefecture. Sapporo has a brewery in Shizuoka and offers an Izu limited bottle design. The beer is Sapporo’s standard Black Label Draft, albeit brewed in Shizuoka. Even though it’s a standard Japanese lager I’ve always loved the bitterness that Black Label offers. I also has a slight sweetness and a fuller flavor than some of the other brands.

The Japanese always talk about how bottled beer, or bin-biiru as they say, tastes better than canned. I have to say that this bottle has a great taste, but is it better than a can? A little more “research” is in order…
