On the store shelves for a limited time from Grand Kirin is Yakan Hikou, bringing excitement to your night. This amber ale style beer features American Cascade hops and is crafted to bring out the “sweet savory aromas of the barley.”
Yakan Hikou pours a deep dark amber in the glass, with a very fragrant malty aroma. The hints of roasted malt and fruity yeast are strong. Toasted malt and coffee notes start the first mouthful, along with an enjoyable sweetness. Bitterness kicks in on the mid-palate continuing down the throat.
An amber ale worthy of the Grand Kirin label, Yakan Hikou is a wonderful beer. It has tons of flavor, and is not overly hopped like many microbrew style beers. Consequently, it is a beer that is easy to drink with a flavor that keeps you wanting a second bottle.
