Tasting Notes:
2016 brought Japan’s oldest winter limited brew to the store shelves once again, a much anticipated day. The brew seems to have stayed the same as last year, Sapporo choosing to produce a Weiner beer using roasted Vienna malt and their fuyu no maroyaka brewing method to bring out a robust flavor.

The roasted Vienna malt gives off a deep golden color in the glass. Coming off the head is a sweet malty aroma with hints of caramel. In the mouth a full-bodied maltiness hits the tip of the tongue enveloping every inch in flavor. A wonderful rich bitterness finished the gulp inviting you for a second go.

Sapporo’s Fuyu Monogatari is a really special beer and its popularity shows in its 29 year history. Seeing this beer on the store shelves means that winter is coming, but in a good way.
