Kirin’s newest limited brew for its new genre Nodogoshi brand is Hare-Nodogoshi, a brew for the easy going summer season. Made with aroma hops to impart a fruity, citrusy flavor, this brew was created to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends.
Hare Nodogoshi pours a golden color into the glass with a nice head. The nose has somewhat of a fruity hoppiness to it. The first gulp is very refreshing, flavorful yet quite light. It’s a little “green” and does have a light fruity flavor with hints of lemon rind, as well. It finishes with a light bitterness and clean aftertaste.
In the new genre category, Hare Nodogoshi is quite nice. It won’t impress the full-bodied beer crowd, but for those looking for a lighter beer to drink during the summer months yet has just a bit of something different, this new genre will do the deed. I like its freshness and lightness after drinking some of the more heavier Japanese beers recently.
