Tasting Notes:
Chugging along in Suntory’s 6th Volume of its Craftsman’s Beer series for the Aeon group is Sentretsu no Kaori, stated to be an Amber Lager Type all-malt beer. Cascade hops and caramel malt were used to produce a lager with a strong flavor and bitterness.

Pouring Senretsu no Kaori into the glass releases a very fresh “green” aroma of hops. Those hops give a very tangy front-end to this beer and it has a very interesting citrus rind flavor. On the backend, those flavors release themselves somewhat, leaving a nice amount of bitterness that lingers in the throat.

As we come into the freshly picked hop beer season, Senretsu no Kaori gives a good indication of the flavors to come this November. This beer is fresh, fruity, and has a wonderful bitterness. I really liked the straightforwardness of this beer, offering something unusual yet easy to drink.
