Sapporo’s Hyakunen-Bakuga is in its second year of release. The naming comes from the use of a special malt from Norfolk, England which has been produced for more than 100 years. Being a low malt brew, the percentage of usage is rather questionable however.
Never the less this third tier brew is quite nice. It has a very rich flavor that is well rounded with some bitterness and crispness. There is an off-putting metallic ting on the nose that hits the tip of the tongue, but otherwise it is a top of the line new genre brew.
