Sapporo Hokkaido Premium Pour

Tasting Notes:
Sapporo Hokkaido Premium, released last summer was the second offering in the Premium line, the first being Sapporo Nihon no Irodori Premium Natsu no Kaori, which was a limited production beer for the summer. Sapporo’s Hokkaido Premium might be considered its little brother, a third tier new genre beverage that is made -in part- with malt and hops grown in Hokkaido.

This “Premium” malt liqueur has a very clean taste. Lots of effervescence can be felt on the tip of the tongue, mid-palette you can taste some of the malt and bitterness from the Furano hops. However, there is no lingering bitterness or aftertaste down the throat, as you might expect from a Sapporo beer. All in all, Hokkaido Premium is a good refreshing beverage.

Well, I’ve been grabbing these since they switched over to Mugi to Hoppu Gold. I can’t find regular Mugi to Hoppu. Yeah, the bitterness doesn’t linger as much but it’s still there and has that refreshing Sapporo hop profile. Also kept a nice head almost the whole drink, which was nice.
