Japanese Name: 麦のハーモニー
Brewer: Korean unknown
Purchase Price: ￥88 @Welcia
While taking a short overnight trip last week, we ended up shopping at a drug store across the street from our hotel. Browsing the beer cooler for some liquid refreshments, I came across Mugi no Harmony, a brew that I’d never seen before. For 88 yen, less than the cost of bottled water I had to give it a shot.
Mugi no Harmony is another malt liquor beverage that is brewed in Korea, and imported to Japan. Most of the time, they’re not bad, so let’s see how Mugi no Harmony turned out. The glasses in the hotel were a little dirty so, I drank out of the can. However, I can assure you it probably had a light straw color. My first swig was not bad, it was lighter in flavor, actually I should say there was not much flavor at all, and just a hint of sweetness.
You can expect Mugi no Harmony be one of those beers you can pound back over the course of a hot summer evening into the morning, and your pocketbook with thank you. However, if you have the means, you’ll find much more excitement elsewhere.
