When I buy a beer, I really never know what to expect. It’s not like you’re going to be purchasing anything undrinkable (most of the time), but you’re usually not going get anything special either. To start, I’m a huge fan of Sapporo, they really know how to make a special brew. This limited edition Ginza Lion Premium is no exception, and quite frankly I was shocked.
Pouring the contents into the glass, I immediately felt there was something special about this beer, with its deep golden color. There was a strong aroma of hops and malt amidst the frothy head. On my first taste, I immediately tasted a little bitterness, hoppiness, and a nice lasting effervescence. The flavors were in perfect harmony and stick around long enough to make you want a second and third gulp.
To date, Sapporo Ginza Lion Premium is one of my top beers, and I really could not ask for a more well rounded beer. It provides enough complexity to appeal to those who want a beer with more depth, yet does not overload the taste buds. It’s just perfection in a can.
